After an endoscope is used, it should be cleaned manually by the technician by using an enzymatic cleaner and after that, soaked in a high-level disinfectant. The manual cleaning is important to ensure that the disinfection process is effective and for that, clean the external surface of the endoscope with the detergent by using soft cloths, brushes, and sponges. Flush and brush all accessible channels to clean debris and other contaminants. Those areas and accessories which are hard to clear should be cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner.
